First Sustainable Vacation Camp in Peró Beach, Brazil
In January 2020 in Peró Beach, Brazil, children and teenagers from 6 to 17 years old had the possibility to follow the free activities organised by the Blue Flag Programme in Praia do Peró, the Escola do Mar Institute (Iemar) and the Projeto Marola.
The activities carried out were about environmental education, transformation of garbage into art, prevention of drowning and safety at sea, sandboarding with Rafael Marendino and games about sustainability.
The activity took place in the Blue Flag awarded area, close to the lifeguard post and also included a tribute to the local authority team, the distribution of t-shirts and the explanation of what is Blue Flag as well as why it is important to have an international seal.
The event was supported by the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment (MMA) through the Environmental and Territorial Management Directory, as well as through the MMA Programme for the Fight against Sea Garbage, from the State Environment Institute (Inea) and the Costa do Sol State Park (PECS).
